Nurse Clinics
At Cottage Veterinary Clinic we have a dedicated nurse clinic from Monday to Saturday. This is ran by experienced nurses who can offer many services to your pet. This means you don’t always have to wait to see the vet for certain appointments.
Here are some of the consultations we can offer your pets in our nurse clinic:
New puppy/ kitten clinic – An early health assessment to ensure your puppy/kitten gets off to the right start! These consults are free giving you a 30 minute consult with one of our experienced nursing team to guide you through everything you need to know.
2nd Vaccinations – Once your puppy/kitten has had their health check with one of our vet team then if they need further vaccines you can attend our nurse clinic for their second vaccine.
Developmental checks for adolescent dogs – An essential check up to ensure your puppy is growing and developing normally as they grow. We usually recommend these between 6 and 10 months of age.
Weight management clinics – Our nursing team can advise and support you every step of the way on your pet’s weight loss journey.
Post operative wound checks – In the days and weeks after surgery, our nursing team are available to check the surgical wounds are healing and that your pet is comfortable and recovering well from their procedure.
Pre- euthanasia consultations – This can be a difficult time for all involved and it can help to come and discuss your options and plan the process to ensure the most peaceful experience for you and your beloved pet.

- Anal gland expression/nail clipping
- Repeat skin allergy injections
- Repeat osteoarthritis injections
- Blood pressure checks
- Bandage changes
- Diabetes injection training
- Blood sampling
Not only this, but we also work closely with Felicity Kelleher of For Paws Training and Behaviour to provide confidence and behavioural appointments for dogs struggling with anxiety in and outside the clinic setting.
